Plane spotting FAQ

What is a plane spotting app?

A plane spotting app helps you spot, identify, and log real aircraft in the sky or on the ground. FlightCatcherPro does that and turns it into a game: point your phone, identify the aircraft, and add it to your digital hangar. That's your personal collection and logbook.

Can I identify aircraft with my phone?

Yep. Point your phone at a real aircraft, confirm the catch, and FlightCatcherPro logs the type, airline, and other details in your hangar.

What's the difference between tracking and spotting?

Flight trackers like Flightradar24 show live positions on a map. Plane spotting is watching and identifying aircraft in person. FlightCatcherPro is built for spotting: identify, catch, and collect. It's not trying to replace a full-world tracker.

How does FlightCatcherPro compare to SkyCards?

Both are aviation collection games, but the catch loop is different. FlightCatcherPro is camera-based. You point your real phone at aircraft you actually see, then grow a spotter-style hangar career. Kind of like real-world catching plus long-term collection management. SkyCards is more of a card game with a simulated camera. Pick FlightCatcherPro if you want a field-first spotting game built around live sightings.

Is FlightCatcherPro free?

FlightCatcherPro is free on iOS with optional in-app purchases. You can start spotting and filling your hangar without paying. Subscriptions unlock extra stuff for collectors who want more.

Can I upload my own photographs?

Yes. Every catch can include your own photo from the camera or your photo library. Your shots show up in your hangar and catch gallery. Pick a primary photo and build a visual logbook of what you've spotted.

Do I need an internet connection?

You need internet to identify aircraft and sync your hangar. Offline, you can still snap a photo and save a catch draft. FlightCatcherPro finishes identification when you're back online.

How does rarity and gamification work?

Every aircraft gets a rarity tier: Common, Rare, Epic, or Legendary, based on how uncommon it is to spot. Climb leaderboards, earn medals, and chase rare finds. Your best catch photo for a registration can even become the main photo for that aircraft on the FlightCatcherPro website.
