To identify a plane from a photo, upload it to FlightCatcherPro on your iPhone. Review the suggested aircraft, then save the catch to your hangar. You can also use the camera when the aircraft is in front of you.
In short
- Upload a clear aircraft photo.
- Review the suggestion before saving.
- Find your catch and its rarity label in your hangar.
Identify your photo in three steps
Choose your aircraft photo
Open FlightCatcherPro and upload a photo from your phone. Pick one where the aircraft is clear and large enough to see.
Review the identification
Compare the suggested aircraft with your photo. Check the shape, engines and airline markings. If the result does not look right, try a clearer shot.
Save the catch
Keep the aircraft in your hangar. You can return to your collection and see its rarity label after saving.

Which photos work best?
Choose a sharp photo that shows as much of the aircraft as possible. A side or three-quarter view gives more clues than a distant silhouette. Avoid heavy crops that cut off the wings or tail.
If you took several photos, use the clearest one. Enlarging a blurred aircraft will not bring back missing detail. You do not need specialist camera equipment: start with the photo already on your phone.
What if the result is uncertain?
A small or blurry aircraft may not provide enough detail for an exact identification. Keep the result unconfirmed rather than guessing the variant.
If a registration is readable, our aircraft registration lookup guide shows how to check it. For similar-looking airliners, compare the features in our Boeing versus Airbus guide.
